Ingredients for Valentines day sprinkles cookies

  • Flour -For gluten-free cookie recipes I like using King Arthur Measure for Measure flour. In addition to being gluten-free, it is also dairy-free.
  • Salt
  • Dairy-Free Butter -In addition to giving the cookies their moisture it also is the base for the creamy vanilla-almond buttercream frosting. Country Crock Dairy Free gives both the best flavor as well as texture keeping these cookies and buttercream frosting absolutely delicious!
  • Sugar -Besides white sugar for the cookies you’ll also need powdered sugar for the frosting. This will easily mix into the dairy-free buttercream frosting and give you that silky texture and just the right amount of sweetness.
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla -For the most flavor make sure you’re using a high-quality vanilla. Singing Dog Vanilla is my go-to and you’ll use it in both the cookies and also the frosting.
  • Almond Extract -This adds a slightly nutty flavor to the buttercream frosting and gives it an incredible depth of flavor. A little goes a long way.
  • Sprinkles -Is there anything happier than confetti of sprinkles on top of a sugar cookie? OliveNation makes the perfect festive sprinkles for all of your baking needs. You can use code NK15 for 15% off your order.
  • Wilton Rose Gel Color -Gel food coloring easily mixes into the frosting delivering that perfect Galentine’s shade.

Storage

These gluten-free and dairy-free frosted sugars will remain tender and fresh for up to a week. Keep them stored in an airtight container at room temperature to prevent the frosting from becoming too hard in the refrigerator. Once the frosting has dried you can stack them in a storage container with layers of wax paper or parchment paper between them to prevent them from sticking to each other.
